Invacare has been in close working partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association in developing power chairs that aim to beneficially improve the lives of individuals with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
By working with the MND Association, a range of power chairs have been clinically developed to specifically meet the ongoing requirements of individuals with MND. These new ‘powered neuro wheelchairs’ offer increased functionality with key features as standard such as specialist seating, G-Trac technology and powered posture functions.
Helping people to remain mobile and live independently is a core ethos at Invacare and a fundamental in the design and functionality of its mobility wheelchair product range.

What is Motor Neurone Disease?
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.
Although there is currently no cure for MND, symptoms can be managed to help you achieve the best possible quality of life. The MND Association offers comprehensive information and is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning.
